Subsign: First, can you tell us a few things about yourself?
Alice: Sure. My name is Alexandra, but everybody knows me by my nickname, Alice. I am 28 years old and I live in Romania. I am a very visual and creative person. I have always liked drawing, painting, or just doodling things on the back of my notebook in school, but when I grew up life got in the way and I did not do it as much as I would have liked to. But about a year ago I got my Ipad Pro and I fell in love with digital drawing and I have started to work more on the things that I love and that makes me happy. 🙂
Subsign: What was your childhood like? Do you think your experiences from childhood have influenced your present creative endeavors?
Alice: I can say I had a beautiful childhood, half of the time I lived at my grandmother’s house where we had a big garden and me and my brothers and sisters played a lot outside. I always liked to doodle, but I guess every child likes that. This reminds me of what Pablo Picasso said: “Every child is an artist. The problem is to remain an artist once they grow up”.
Subsign: What did you wanted to be as a grown up?
Alice: As a child, I always wanted to be a veterinary doctor when I grow up because I love animals. I still do, I have 2 furry friends, but I decided that being a doctor wasn’t for me. Now I just draw them haha.
Subsign: How does your workstation look like?
Alice: I don’t really have a workstation, sometimes I draw in bed, sometimes I like to take my drawing outside on the balcony, sometimes I like to draw on the kitchen table, but I always have a coffee by my side.
Subsign: Do you have a work style? How would you describe it?
Alice: I am not sure I have a work style right now… I am still working on my drawing style I guess. I am still learning a lot of things and I try to become better and better every day.
Subsign: Can you share with us how your creative process works?
Alice: It depends on what I am trying to make. Sometimes I use some photos for reference but I usually start with a rough sketch, then I make the final line art. After that, I add in colors and I make details, lights, shadows, etc.
Subsign: What is your favorite work you have done so far?
Alice: This must be the hardest question from this interview because I tend to be a little harsh on myself and I don’t always love my work. But probably my favorite one is this comic I did on Easter and I love it so much because it is very personal. This is me, my loved one, our furry friends, and the activities we did that day.
Subsign: Who do you follow for inspiration?
Alice: I follow a looot of art accounts on Instagram. There are so many talented artists out there, it is insane.
Subsign: What advice could you give to someone starting out in the creative field of work?
Alice: I guess my advice would be to draw things that you enjoy and try to learn things and become better. Keep practicing (a lot) and never give up. Sometimes you have to be your biggest fan, do you know what I mean?
Subsign: If you would a super power, what would it be?
Alice: The power to make the world a more beautiful place.

Subsign: If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?
Alice: I would throw a very introverted party haha. Just a few people, pizza, wine & a good movie.
Subsign: What famous people would you invite to the party and why?
Alice: I am not sure I would invite famous people to my small party. Introverted here, remember?
