In a landscape where personal branding dominates the tattoo industry, two visionary artists from Ia\u0219i – <\/span>Raul \u0218tefan<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>\u0218tefan Rusu<\/span><\/a> – set out to challenge the status quo. They envisioned a collective rooted in professionalism, artistic excellence, and a deep respect for the client\u2019s journey.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their ambition was clear: to build a tattoo society, not just another studio. One that offers a curated, consultative experience and fosters a sense of community. For this, they turned to subsign, looking for a strategic and creative partner who could translate their vision into a cohesive and elevated brand.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Most tattoo studios in Ia\u0219i are built around personal brands. LUNAR set out to change that.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge was to create an identity strong enough to represent a collective, yet subtle and timeless enough to reflect their minimalist philosophy. The brand also needed to position itself as educational and consultative, without losing the emotional and artistic appeal that tattoos inherently carry.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you communicate all this in a minimalist design system\u2014and make it feel premium, personal, and scalable?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solution.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We positioned the brand around the name LUNAR Tattoo Society – an identity that evokes rhythm, calm, reflection, and timelessness. The word \u201cLUNAR\u201d connects to cycles, depth, and artistry, all aligned with their values.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visual identity focused on:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– A typographic logo\u2014elegant and clean, with subtle character<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– A supporting visual system inspired by lunar phases and natural symmetry<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– A neutral, monochrome palette, complemented by editorial textures and accents for print and digital assets<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– A modular, scalable system adaptable across merchandise, digital content, and interior design<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visual Identity Design<\/span>: We developed a strong creative direction through moodboards, then crafted a typography-forward, versatile logo\u2014supported by custom graphics, patterns, and a well-defined typography and color system.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held in Ia\u0219i, the event showcased not just the new studio space but the full LUNAR identity, from visual language to tone, storytelling, and community vibe. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees praised the design system\u2019s clarity and elegance, the cohesive brand presence, and the meaningful, personal interactions offered by the artists.\nIt wasn’t just a launch, it was a statement of intent: that tattooing can be refined, thoughtful, and community-driven.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
