Subsign: First, can you tell us a few things about yourself?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: I\u2019m 34 y.o. Romanian artist born in Moldova where I spent most of my childhood. I\u2019m also the youngest of my two siblings. I\u2019ve always been attracted to art and this passion has followed me into adulthood.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: What was your childhood like? Do you think your childhood experiences have influenced your present creative endeavors?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: I had a pretty normal childhood compared to other kids around me and of course considering those times standards. I grew up in a village in Moldova, immediately after the fall of the USSR most of the families struggled financially, therefore the main mood the grownups had was to provide.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Despite the material and financial lacks, I felt very rich emotionally, creative and very busy with my own thoughts.\nMy childhood definitely influenced my passion for painting, it set up the background that I was able later to rediscover and it fed the need to express myself.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>I don\u2019t have them dated, but the drawings I\u2019ll show you are from when I was 11 – 18 years old.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: What did you want to be as a grown up?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: I didn\u2019t have an answer for that for a very long time. Nothing seemed to fit my personality, my need for \u201cconnected disconnection\u201d. I was longing for spending time with my peers but at the same time desperately needed time with and for myself. I was getting bored fast of the same activities and constantly looking for something new to discover. Becoming an artist was definitely not an option back then. <\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: What does your workstation look like?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: Do you have a work style? How would you describe it?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: I mainly work with watercolors so I like the gentleness and the fluidity that is going on on paper. I mainly depict women and try to catch the mood and the feeling behind the figure, eyes and hands often help me to describe it better. I like to paint gentle, vulnerable, exposed women, I want to bring forward these features as qualities, something valuable and not the other way around. I want people to speak up for their feelings and embrace them as they are.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: Can you share with us how your creative process works?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: My creative process is never the same. It depends a lot on how I feel or what I want to share. Usually, I look around for inspirational photo sessions, interesting photo portraits and I extract and highlight what interests me more in my own work.\nOther times I make collages on my work from different sources in order to create that particular composition I want.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: What is your favorite work you have done so far?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: I don\u2019t have a favorite one. I like bits of many of my paintings. Maybe it doesn\u2019t sound good, but I\u2019m never fully satisfied with my work entirely. But I always hope my next one will be much better. I guess this also drives the progress.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: Who do you follow for inspiration?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: The internet is an unlimited source of inspiring artists. One of my very favorites is Brazilian watercolorist Marcos Beccari.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: What advice would you give to someone starting out in the creative field of work.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: There is nothing to be afraid of. And there is nothing to lose as well. Everybody had a bumpy start so you just need courage and perseverance and hard work of course.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: If you could have a super power, what would it be?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: To heal people\u2019s wounds, to eradicate suffering and injustice.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: Can you recommend a book, a song and a movie, for our readers?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: \u201cCrime and punishment\u201d by Fyodor Dostoevky<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>\u201cMy sweet and tender beast\u201d waltz by Eugen Doga\n<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>\u201cDon\u2019t move\u201d by Sergio Castellitto<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what special occasion would you choose?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: I don\u2019t like to throw parties as I don\u2019t like to attract attention to myself and I am not a very good host as well :). But I\u2019m delighted to attend any.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsign: What famous people would you invite to the party and why?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margarita<\/span>: I guess you did not expect that some people don\u2019t like to organize parties :).<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
